XODUS reps Washington Heights (not the TV show, we think) of NYC, and in the midst of working on his full-length project - he releases a brand new single from the aforementioned effort, the extremely relate-able "Go Away." Produced by Paulie Monster, the song was inspired by an event in his life almost 10 years ago. XODUS tells us, "I've always been in a rush and I felt like if I kept spending time out in the street, there was no way I was going to find myself in time to do something great. So, I was literally locked away in a basement, in a long-term, long-distance relationship, and struggling with my own brain chemistry—trying to learn the key to my own happiness so I could begin the pursuit. I brought on my own introspective depression and Go Away was probably all I would have had the energy to mutter if I could have personified pain and exchanged words.” Listen to the record below. Pharrell “Happy” | New Music
Pharrell is certainly catching a wave that can only be compared to his domination of records more than 10 years back, and with two of the summer's hottest records thus far on everyone's iPod - he crafts a quite jubilant record for the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack. The 40 year-old producer is set to have three original songs on the soundtrack, and "Happy" is certainly a lively record worthy of a few spins. While Robin Thicke has certainly been racking up with his latest single "Blurred Lines", which hit the top of the charts on iTunes, and could have another potential winner with "Give It To Me" featuring 2 Chainz and Kendrick Lamar, he gets back to basics on this smooth, suave, grown and sexy number "4 The Rest Of My Life." The record, which undoubtedly is dedicated to his wife Paula Patton, is certainly one that could be played at summer weddings to years to come. After premiering the extended snippet a few days ago, one of the most anticipated collaborations from The-Dream's upcoming IV Play album surfaces in the form of "Turnt" featuring Beyoncé and 2 Chainz. King B, whose other Dream collaboration "Grown Woman" leaked yesterday, exudes absolute sex on this single and 2 Chainz continues to bring his brand of "turnt up" rhymes to the record which fits in quite nicely on the track.
