When it comes to this forthcoming posthumous Aaliyah project, there’s been quite a bit of ruckus about it concerning who’s working on and who isn’t. After garnering much criticism from fans about his “creepy” obsession with Aaliyah, Drake finally sees some support and it comes from one of his own musical peers, Ne-Yo.
In an interview with Hot 93.7/Hartford backstage at the VMAs, Ne-Yo admires Drake for taking on such a project:
“I have to applaud Drake for even taking on something like that. [Drake] is like ‘I have a love and appreciation for what Aaliyah was and what she did, and I’m gonna do this. I’ve gotta applaud him for that. Hats off to Drake for that.”
Ne-Yo’s currently preparing his forthcoming release R.E.D. which currently has a release date of November 13th.
