Who else could kick things off right, but the man who has helped mastermind this entire event – Jay-Z? His set ran a full 90 minutes long, spilling into a short set by GOOD Music during the last half an hour, but like the veteran he was – he delivered to the sea of thousands of fans. Touching on hits like “Empire State Of Mind”, “Run This Town”, and “Dirt Off Your Shoulder” he also appealed to the Philly crowd with a brief State Property reunion – bringing Freeway, Young Gunz to the stage as well as letting Swizz Beatz loose for “On To The Next One.” Hell, event President Barack Obama made an appearance during his set – who else can pull THAT off?
