Carly Rae Jepsen’s tight stranglehold on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart has given her the longest run of the year at the top spot, surpassing Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” with a 9 week stretch at number one. Ellie Goulding, whose song “Lights” was released way back in May of 2011 hits it’s highest peak at #2, blowing past names like Maroon 5, Flo Rida, and Katy Perry.
