Just two weeks from R. Kelly’s album Write Me Back dropping (June 26th), it appears he – like his peers, more recently Lauryn Hill, the IRS is also after The Pied Piper’s ass with almost $5 million owned in back taxes.

TMZ has learned that R. Kelly has failed to pay a much more closely estimated $4.8 million, with taxes going back all the way to 2005 – for R. Kelly fans, that’s all the way back to TP.3 Reloaded. The breakdown goes as follows:

2005 – $1,472,366.77
2006 – $710,520.51
2007 – $376,180.11
2008 – $1,122,694.90
2009 – $173,815.18
2010 – $992,495.24

Yikes. A rep for Kelly tells TMZ, “R. Kelly is in the process of working everything out with the government and is confident that all his obligations will be satisfied.”
